Terms of Service

Welcome to Winstis. Winstis is operated by Glidvo. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Glidvo ("we", "us" or "our") about your use of the Winstis desktop application, the website at winstis.com, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Winstis is a desktop application that lets you run plugins from a right-click menu, a search box, schedules and event triggers. The Service includes the desktop application, user accounts, a plugin marketplace, and optional paid cloud features such as cloud storage and hosted source repositories.

2. Accounts

  • You need a valid email address to create an account.
  • Keep your password safe and do not share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Tell us right away if you think your account has been used without your permission.
  • You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian.

3. Plugins and third-party content

Plugins are written by independent developers, not by us. We review plugins before they are listed and show you what each plugin says it can do, but a review cannot guarantee that a plugin is safe or does what it claims. You decide which plugins to install and which permissions to grant. Some plugins run as independent programs with the same access as your own user account; the app tells you when this is the case. We are not responsible for what plugins do, or for third-party services that plugins connect to.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the data you create or store using the Service, including files you put in cloud storage and source code you host with us. You give us a limited license to store, process and transmit that content only as needed to run the Service for you. If you publish a plugin or theme to the marketplace, you give us a license to host, display, review and distribute it as part of the marketplace, under the license you choose for it.

5. Paid services

5.1 Subscriptions

Some features need a paid subscription. The price, billing period and included features are shown when you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

5.2 Payment

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's checkout buyer terms apply to your purchase. Prices include or exclude local taxes as shown at checkout.

5.3 Refunds

You can ask for a refund within 14 days of your first purchase. See our Refund Policy for details.

5.4 Changes to prices

We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for anything illegal;
  • publish plugins or themes that contain malware, hidden behavior, or that misstate what they do;
  • try to bypass the permission checks, review process, or usage limits of the Service;
  • reverse engineer or attack the Service, or send abusive traffic to it;
  • share your account or create accounts to get around limits or bans.

7. Intellectual property

The Winstis application, website, name and logo belong to Glidvo and are protected by law. These Terms do not give you the right to use our trademarks. Plugins and themes belong to their authors and are governed by the licenses their authors chose.

8. Feedback

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.

9. Early access features

We may release features marked "Beta", "Early access" or similar. They may be incomplete or change without notice, and we may remove them at any time.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that plugins will work as described.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim.

13. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms. If we shut down the Service, we will give reasonable notice and refund prepaid fees for the period you will not be able to use.

14. Changes

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we will let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. We will first try to settle any dispute by talking to you. If that fails, the dispute will be finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) under its rules in force at the time. The seat of arbitration is Singapore and the language is English. Nothing here limits any consumer rights you have under the mandatory laws of your country.

16. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
